This species is endemic to western and northern Thailand. It grows on tree branches in open, deciduous mountain forest at 1100-1250m. The climate in this area is seasonal with a distinct dry period.
The onion shaped pseudobulbs are 1cm and the flowers 1,5cm across. The leaves are deciduous after a quite a brief period.
This species is best grown mounted as it forms large cushions of densely packed pseudobulbs.
