D. mopsus occurs in Ecuador where it grows at relatively low altitudes, 650-1500m.

This is one of the butt ugly and less showy species but interesting enough to grow because in close-up it looks kinda cool!

Flower size: less than 2cm (3/4"). Plant size: 20-22cm (8").
