D. aviceps occurs in Brazil and Paraguay at altitudes of 200 - 1500 m.
This is one of the larger ( for the genus ) species,
easily recognized by the thick broad green leaves.
The flower size is 5-6mm (1/5") and the leaves
around 5-6cm long (2"). Flowers yellow-green, purple spotted. Sepals with short
tails.
Intermediate - warm conditions.
