Masdevallia asterotricha

This species was first found in 1985 by Königer
in the province of Bongara, Peru at an elevation of 1500m.
The species name derives from the Greek word asterothrix, which means
star-shaped hair, and refers to the trichomes of the inner surface of the sepals.
The trichomes can clearly be seen in the close-up.
Flower size 2,5cm. Plant size 7-8cm. Intermediate conditions.
