Masdevallia nivea

M. nivea (subsection Caudatae) occurs in the eastern Cordillera of
Colombia at
altitudes of around 2800m.
This species is from high elevations and must be grown in a cool and humid environment. The flowers are around 1,5cm wide. The plant grows to a height of 6cm.
The species name derives from the latin niveus, "snow white".
