This species occurs from Ecuador to Bolivia at elevations of 1800-3000m.

The flowers simulate the female flies of the genus Paragymnomma.

Since there is no fragrance, attraction seems based entirely on visual stimuli. Flower size 2cm.

This species requires cool to intermediate conditions.
