Masdevallia constricta

M. constricta (subsection Saltatrices) is one of the earliest identified Masdevallias, collected by Poeppig during his explorations of Peru between 1829 and 1831.

It grows at elevations of 1500-1700m from southeastern Ecuador to central Peru.

The tubular flower is 4-4.5 cm long. Plant size 8-10 cm. Intermediate conditions.
